The "Schreibwerkstatt Klingspor Offenbach
Förderkreis Internationaler Kalligraphie e.V."
is being awarded the "Culture Prize 2012" from the City of Offenbach.
During the City of Offenbach's New Year Reception for its cultural societies,
on the 16th of January 2013, the Mayor of the City presented
in a wonderful ceremony the honourary document:
The Mayor of the City of Offenbach, Horst Schneider:
"In June of this year the Schreibwerkstatt Klingspor Offenbach e.V.
celebrated its 25-year anniversary.
Starting from the "Calligraphy Workshop for Everyone" founded by Karlgeorg Hoefer,
the club which is active throughout its international network now has more
than 200 members. Continuing the tradition of calligraphical culture, as brought
to life by the Klingspor brothers and especially by Rudolf Koch, it has always been
the objective of the Schreibwerkstatt to explore the writing process and to allow its
creative motivation in forming words to develop as an effective presentation of the
text. The well-subscribed courses run by the Schreibwerkstatt demonstrate how
actively it promotes writing as culture and art – indeed well beyond the boundaries
Against this background, it is my pleasure as the Mayor and Cultural Affairs Councillor
to inform that the Schreibwerkstatt Klingspor is being awarded the
"Culture Prize 2012 from the City of Offenbach". The Culture Prize is endowed with
2.500 euros and will be presented at the City of Offenbach's New Year Reception
for its cultural societies on Wednesday,i n January 2013 in the Büsingpalais.
I wish the committee and all members continuing success and pleasure
in your artistic endeavours.
