The visitors' book in our archive
The visitors' book - a valuable historical record introduced and opened by Karlgeorg Hoefer for the former archive in Kaiserstrasse Offenbach and continued in use for the 'Karlgeorg and Maria Hoefer Archive' in Offenbach-Rumpenheim - now has no free pages left. It can now be viewed in the library.
The pages were designed by our member, Michael Pieroth, for the archive opening in 2009.
The Chairman, Benno Aumann, has concluded the old visitors' book with a citation, reports on the archive and the Schreibwerkstatt as well as a final calligraphic image.
The new visitors' book is laid out in the archive. The new visitors' book is laid out in the archive. The first page has been designed by our member and lecturer Frank Fath.
In our thoughts:
At the age of 87 Mary White passed away on 27th June 2013; born in Wales, she had lived and worked in Germany since 1980.
Mary White, an internationally well-known artist for ceramics and calligraphy, was a lecturer in the Schreibwerkstatt Klingspor in the spring of 1997. The course dealt with both of the mentioned artistic branches.
The Schreibwerkstatt will remember her.
In March 2013 the internationally well-known and distinguished calligrapher and illustrator, Geogia Deaver, passed away.
As a member of many calligraphy institutions in the USA, Georgia Deaver was also close to the Schreibwerkstatt and she demonstrated and imparted her ability as a guest lecturer during the summer school of 2009.
In honour of her we would like to remember her with a comment from a participant: "Thank you, we'll never forget the wonderful "Sommerschule 2009" in Bad Soden-Salmünster, Germany."

(Extract from the obituary notice in the Fränkische Nachrichten newspaper)
We are deeply moved at the sad loss of our honorary member and a companion of Karlgeorg Hoefer:
Herbert Maring passed away on 24th November 2012 in Hardheim.
In the Schreibwerkstatt we will always remember him.
With this part of a citation from Cesare Pavese (1908 - 1950) Herbert Maring thanked Karlgeorg Hoefer in a script for his beginnings in calligraphic art and in the Schreibwerkstatt.
(The picture originates from the legacy of the Hoefer Family and is part of the inventory of the "Karlgeorg and Maria Hoefer Archive" where it is exhibited.)
We are very saddened by the loss of our long-standing member:
passed away on 26th January 2012
